Tasting Notes
Originating from the sun-soaked vineyards of southern Italy, Aglianico is celebrated for its remarkable harmony of fruit, acid and tannins, making it a wine with exceptional aging potential. In our local rendition, it entices the palate with vibrant notes of ripe cherry and invigorating mint, followed by subtle hints of earthy clay. This full-bodied red wine stays faithful to its heritage. Wonderful now but very age worthy
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were hand harvested from Yavapai College Vineyard in the fall of 2021. Destemmed and crushed to open-top bins for fermentation with specially selected yeast. Punched down daily and pressed at dryness. Induced Malolactic fermentation. Aged 22 months in 25% new French oak and 75% Neutral oak barrels. Racked and filtered prior to bottling in July 2023.
